Well I survived 24 days in a trailer with Ted! The fact that I survived that length of time in close quarters with anyone is a miracle. For those of you who know me best, you will know that I dearly covet my "alone" time. Writing this blog has given me that time, be it in Starbucks or McDonalds or at "Rosa's" Dinnette. So I thank you all giving me the opportunity to sit quietly, gather my thoughts and share them from my heart. I think it's what I do best.
Our last jog home was across Ohio...".round on the ends and hi in the middle..."and it was beautiful. Wanted to make our long drive from Branson to Penetang a little bit of a vacation and not just a mad dash for home. I thought it would be fun to take in a county fair because I love them so and Ohio has so many. We managed to find the very last one of the season and will share some photos with you.
One very large watermelon...even bigger than the ones Uncle Tom used to bring to our July 4th picnics.
Self explanatory...
Comparing girths?
Hot apple dumpling...almost as good as Grandma Mahoney's!
Thanks everyone. Goodbye!
I love county fairs too. I love it when they have quilts! It was fun reading your blog, you'll have to do it again on your next adventure! Glad your home safe and sound.
ReplyDeleteThat all looks like such fun! I've enjoyed my visit to your blog...and have left a comment on your Laura Ingalls post also. The size of those pumpkins is simple hard to believe. I can only imagine how hard they would be to cut open. We had some volunteers this year and I was excited to see them. Small sugar pumpkins but about 20 of them at least. I baked one like a squash and we enjoyed it just yesterday.
